Understand why your grocery bill changed.

By using GroceryLens you agree to these terms. If you do not, do not use it. You can stop at any time by deleting your account, which deletes your data with it — see the Privacy Policy.
GroceryLens is operated by Nikhil AI Labs, Ontario, Canada.
GroceryLens reads photographs of grocery receipts you give it, turns them into line items, and tells you why your bill changed between one period and another.
It is a record-keeping and explanation tool for shopping you have already done.
It is not financial advice. Nothing in the app is a recommendation about your finances, and nothing in it is provided by a licensed adviser. Figures about your own spending are exactly that — arithmetic on receipts you scanned. What you do about them is your decision.
It does not know current prices anywhere. GroceryLens holds no live retailer pricing and collects none. Every price it shows you is one you recorded, by scanning a receipt. When it says "lowest recorded price", it means the lowest price on your own saved receipts — not the lowest price in a shop today, not the lowest price near you, and not a price you can rely on finding.
It is not affiliated with any retailer. Shop names appear so you can tell one of your receipts from another. That use of a name does not imply any relationship with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from the retailer. All trade marks belong to their owners.
It does not guarantee that a receipt was read correctly. See below.
Receipts are read by automated text recognition, and by a language model where a printed label is unclear. Both make mistakes. A till abbreviation can be misread, a discount line can be missed, a total can be transcribed wrongly.
So:
We do not warrant that extraction is accurate or complete.
You need an email address. You are responsible for keeping access to it secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
One account is for one person. Do not share it.
Do not:
There are per-day and per-receipt limits on automated reading. They exist to bound cost and abuse, not to ration ordinary use.
The receipts you upload, and the data extracted from them, remain yours. We do not claim ownership.
You grant us only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store your receipts, to send an image to our text-recognition processor to be read, and to show the results back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
We do not train models on your data. No receipt, item, price or photograph of yours is used to train, fine-tune or improve any model, ours or anybody else's.
GroceryLens is provided as it is, with no promise of uptime. It depends on services we do not control, and any of them can fail. We may change or withdraw features. If we discontinue the service we will give reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.
To the maximum extent the law allows, GroceryLens is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, lost savings, or loss of data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the previous twelve months, or CAD $50.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including, in some countries, statutory consumer guarantees. If you are a consumer, you keep every right the law gives you.
You can delete your account in the app at any time, which deletes your data immediately and permanently.
We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use GroceryLens after that means you accept the change.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applying in it, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. Nothing in this clause removes a right you have to bring a claim in your own country where the law gives you one.
