Delete your GroceryLens account

GroceryLens is made by Nikhil AI Labs. This page explains how to delete your account and exactly what happens to your data when you do.

In the app, which is immediate

1. Open GroceryLens and go to the You tab.
2. Scroll to Leaving and tap Delete account.
3. Type your email address to confirm. It is checked against the account you are signed in to, so this cannot happen to the wrong account by mistake.

Deletion happens straight away. There is no waiting period and no confirmation email to wait for.

By email, if you cannot reach the app

If you have uninstalled GroceryLens or cannot sign in, write to hello@nikhilailabs.com from the email address on the account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm when it is done, within 30 days and usually within a few days.

What is deleted

Everything, and permanently:

• Your account and sign-in details
• Every receipt you saved, and every photograph of one
• Every item, price and total read from those receipts
• Your spending history, price history, and any insight generated from it
• Your preferences, including currency, country and any budget you set
• Any correction or product match you confirmed

The images are removed from storage first, then the account, which cascades through every record tied to it. Nothing is archived. Point-in-time database backups held for disaster recovery expire on their own schedule, after which it is gone from those too.

What is kept, and why

Nothing that identifies you. Records of how often the app called an external service — a timestamp, whether it succeeded, how long it took — survive without any link to you or to what was scanned, because they are what tells us the service is working.

There is no name, address, phone number or payment detail to delete, because GroceryLens never asks for them.

Deleting some of your data without closing your account

You do not have to delete everything to delete something. Any single receipt can be removed in the app — open it and choose delete — and that takes its items, prices and image with it.
